Icing/Finishing Variation

01. BUTTERCREAM

Here are some examples for buttercream - left to right: Chocolate Fudge Buttercream, Coffee Buttercream, and Rose Buttercream. However, the flavors are multitude to choose from according to your liking. Some other flavors available are:
  1. Vanilla Buttercream
  2. Orange Buttercream
  3. White Chocolate Buttercream

02. FONDANT

Fondant provides smooth surface to a cake and widely used in wedding cake industry. Yellow tinted fondant is shown in the above picture, but any color will easily be applied to fondant like here are some of other example. further read on fondant can be found in the past blog post: Ttrusty Ol' Fondant.

03. ROYAL ICING

Royal icing is a hard icing for cakes and also for other pastries like cookies. Although traditionally a cake would be iced entirely with this hard icing, it isn't much seen in Malaysia. What it always used is to do detailing in the overall cake designs like shown in the picture - borders, shells, filigree, dots and "fleur de lis".
